UniVoIP and Nick Payab from the 10,000 Small Businesses program joined more than 2,000 businesses in a two-day educational conference featuring Warren Buffett and Michael Bloomberg.
LOS ANGELES, May 8, 2018 (Newswire.com) –Thousands of small business owners from across the US who are alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program participated in the 10,000 Small Businesses Summit: The Big Power of Small Business, the largest-ever gathering of small business owners in the US focused on charting a path to help small businesses grow and compete successfully.
UniVoIP, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Nick Payab, joined more than one hundred local alumni from the Southern California region of 10,000 Small Businesses program in Washington D.C. The Summit participants heard from industry leaders and experts about optimizing business growth – from best practices for effective hiring and accessing capital, to lessons for leadership, leveling the playing field, and more. As part of the robust educational program, he heard from distinguished business icons including Warren Buffett, Michael Bloomberg and Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs. After one day of intense workshops and educational seminars, Nick and other alumni visited Capitol Hill to meet with policymakers and share the perspectives of small businesses in their local economies.
For the Southern California region, the 10,000 Small Businesses program is delivered at Long Beach City College and Los Angeles City College. It is designed to help entrepreneurs by providing access to a business and management education program, capital and business support services. The three-month program, including more than 100 hours of classroom time, is offered at no cost to the business owners. Accepted applicants receive hands-on education for business growth, access to highly trained professionals who understand what it takes to grow a small business and an expanded peer network of small business owners from across the country. “Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program is a gift that keeps on giving. I just wish that I would have known about this program several years ago. At the early stages of the program, we were given the assignment to research our industry and our competitors. My research led to invaluable insight for UniVoIP to set a new course to develop our Enterprise product and pursue enterprise customers. This decision led us to gain our largest customer to date with the potential to double the size of our company in 18 months,” said Payab.
It was an illuminating and eye-opening experience, to be in the same room with the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. I was captivated, holding on to every word they spoke and connecting to their stories of determination and triumph – Nick Payab
