A Luxury Fitness Club with an Unparalleled Member Experience

Fit Athletic Club (Fit) is a unique lifestyle brand and luxury fitness club offering only the best of the best to its members for more than 13 years. It opened its first doors in Houston in 2004 and then expanded to San Diego in 2008. With an extraordinary country club-like atmosphere, a culture that fosters and encourages complete wellness, and all of the tools and training needed to see incredible results – there’s no wonder Fit has been voted “Best Gym” every year.

From Nortel, to Cisco, the best option UniVoIP

Originally, Fit’s communication infrastructure was serviced by Nortel, a basic phone set up with outdated equipment that didn’t support the club’s modern atmosphere. When Nortel experienced bankruptcy in 2009, Avaya acquired Nortel, which forced businesses like Fit to endure large upfront expenses in order to upgrade their communication infrastructure. When faced with a $10,000 upgrade charge, Fit moved from Nortel to Cisco. After a few years with Cisco, Fit hired an IT Consultant to investigate VoIP providers that would not only meet their communication needs but offer reliable coverage and reduce monthly expenses. This was when Fit selected UniVoIP to service their rapidly growing enterprise.

An Easy Transition to UniVoIP with No Downtime

UniVoIP understands the importance for businesses to maintain open lines of communication during implementation of a new communication infrastructure. Throughout Fit’s migration, UniVoIP’s provisioning team ensured an easy transition that allowed the club and its members to experience business continuity without disruption. “Our IT consultant chose UniVoIP to service our club based on our need to modernize, find a reliable service provider and save on monthly expenses. We were able to save roughly 50% per month on communication costs and get a system that did what we needed it to do. Set up was really easy, and the system is very simple to use.” – Tim Farris, Fit Athletic Club

Reliability and Scalable Functionality

UniVoIP offers customers a unique approach to unified communications and tailors solutions to promote mobility, collaboration, flexibility and productivity. Coming from outdated equipment and transitioning to innovative cloud technology, Fit now can achieve their communication goals, more effectively serve their members and scale with UniVoIP’s cloud-based phone solution.

As the club continues to grow, with 2 new locations opening next year and more on the horizon, Fit is now equipped with the scalable communications functionality it needs to expand their club with ease.
